Jack's Birthday Party

Doctor Visit

Today was Madeline's two month check up....don't you think she took it well? This was actually before the shots...poor girl just wanted to go to sleep and I wouldn't let her. I figured it was best to not be woken up by shots....because I am pretty sure she wasn't going to sleep through them. She did fairly well - was by far not the hardest I have ever heard her cry. She weighed in at 12 pounds 3 ounces (67th percentile) and 23" long (55th percentile).

A Picnic and a Giggle

Today we went out to a park to have a picnic Maddie spent her picnic and time at the park much like she spent her day at the zoo...she must have been well rested because tonight she made her first little giggle!

The park had some great playground equipment that Jack was able to try out....every piece of it I might add!

Apparently all this partying poops us out because this is happened on the 5-minute ride home (notice mouth hanging open) and anyone who has ridden in a vehicle with Maddie knows there is no sleeping particularly within 5 minutes.....

And shortly after we were home, this is what happened to Jack....should be a quiet night around here!

Visit from Addyson

We had fun on Saturday when Addy and her mommy and daddy, Nikki & Jason came to visit. The sandbox was especially fun!

Addy briefly enjoyed riding in the trailer to the 4-wheeler.

Thanks for making the trip up....hope you had some fun & hope we can tolerate a trip down in a few months - Maddie's gotta get used to that car seat at some point, right???

Zoo Trip

We were able to make a trip to the NEW zoo on Wednesday with Grandma Jack was super excited to see the giraffes, but was a tad shy of them once he got up close to them

He was excited to see the lions like Alex the Lion in one of his favorite movies

He got to touch the horns on the goat, but that was about as brave as he got around them

He thought the best part of the day was probably the playground equipment

This was how Maddie spent her first trip to the zoo - sheltered (mostly) from the sun and snoozing away.

Campfire

We had our first campfire of the season tonight...even Maddie was enjoying the festivities

Jack roasting his own marshmallow - not a big fan of the smoke in the eyes though.

MMMMMM....the perfect smore. Shortly after this Jack showed us a new trick - turns out the yard ain't just for peeing in the summer...the true outdoorsman also poops outdoors - right in front of the swingset - that should make playtime fun tomorrow. He clearly learned this from his uncle....ha!

It seems we have just two moods these days - really happy or really angry...fortunately I was able to catch one of the really happy moments on camera finally!

We're so excited to finally crack out the cute summer clothes....but 50's again tomorrow, oh well...fun while it lasted.
