PRETTIES!!

Maddie got a package in the mail on Wednesday from Jason, Nikki, and Addy....It was pretty cool!!!! It was a TON of pretty barrettes on a pretty barrette ribbon hanger thingy!
Thank you soooooooooooooo much! It is so cute!!!

Happy 1st Birthday!

Maddie stayed home with me for her birthday on Monday. First we got up and played and had messy messy eggs for breakfast.

Then spent a lot of time sleeping off a nasty head cold that set in over the weekend and became worse of all days on the poor girl's birthday.

After Jack and Daddy got home it was time to open presents! Jack wanted to buy Maddie pink legos and we found the perfect ones!

Daddy wanted to get her this bubble mower - she would not sit still for a picture for it, but did get a chance to go run around with it outside and she can make it work.

I picked out a little (loud) purse with some fun stuff to go in it since she seems to like to carry purses/bags around lately.

We rounded out the day by playing outside since it was nice and sunny!

Birthday Party

On Saturday we had Maddie's first birthday party! We went with the cupcake theme and, oh, we had CUPCAKES~!~
Jack, Maddie and Alyssa playing in her new playhouse grandma and grandpa got for her.

Grandpa and Maddie - apparently the red eye just plain doesn't come out when the window is behind you :(

She got a couple of hats and LOVES them. She wore them for most of the night last night and even some today.

She liked this outfit so much she was ready to put it on.

A new baby doll!

She got a little freaked while we sang Happy Birthday...

Maybe even a little more freaked that we let her smash cake all over herself.

She did so good the whole time and was a sport about everything. We get to celebrate all over again tomorrow - more presents, and likely more cupcakes :)

Easter Program

Jack had an Easter Program to perform in today so we got dressed up pretty to go. Maddie has on her new pretty dress she got from Grandma for her birthday.
Jack did GREAT today!!! He made some improvements from his crazy performances during Christmas time.

Look what we Found!

Yesterday while doing some much needed spring cleaning, I was going through some things in Maddie's room and she was "helping" me and came across a nuk! She would not ever take the before and about 6 months ago when we retried again she didn't even know what to do with it - she stuck the handle in her mouth. But not this time - I think had I not thrown it out after an hour and a half straight of it in her mouth, we may have created a very late nuk habit. The upside was it was an entire hour and a half of putting nothing else in her mouth, which was a plus!

New Pictures

We went and got some new pictures taken today since Maddie will be one in a week and we have not had any of them taken together since she was a newborn. As usual, we had some difficulty with smiling, but even so, we got a few good shots....

Tonight Jack started swimming lessons. First they read a book about the pool and swimming...
Then the fun began. The first night was a success!

Wanna be like Jack

Maddie wants to be just like Jack. She repeats a lot of things that he does. Today he ate lunch here at this table, so when he was done she crawled up and sat on his bench.
Then of course, as usual, she got silly and dangerous and turned around in the seat.

Randoms

Maddie had on a really pretty outfit on Sunday, but I could not get any good pictures of her because she is going through this phase where unless she is confined somewhere (high chair, etc.) she tries to run after the camera. I had to settle for this one when she fell down finally. Wasn't the best and it didn't show how pretty it was, but oh well.
The other night Jack and Maddie took a bath together - these are usually very long bathtimes because they play good together when they're in there. Maddie is very into splashing right now and Jack just cracks up whenever she does it.

Terrible picture again - I can not get one in slower motion unfortunately, but this was too cute. This morning she was wearing a little backpack of Jack's and walking around with her baby - this is how she "loves" her babies. So cute.

Hockey Game

Last week Jack earned a special activity for getting a certain amount of stickers on his reward chart. He originally wanted to go swimming, but we twisted his arm a little (a lot) and talked him into going to a hockey game instead. We thought he'd like it, but he liked it even more than we thought!
Afterward we went and had some supper at Applebee's and Jack did an awesome job at his supper!!
