Party Time!

We had Maddie's birthday party today - probably not going to go down as her favorite day ever, as being sick for your party is not fun, but she did pretty good.

Here she is with her cake and her balloons. She surprisingly wasn't interested in the cake at all, but the balloons seemed to put a smile on her face.

She got some new shades...she is all ready for beach season, doll playing, pajama time, and just about anything else you can think of! She loved everything!

I had to video tape a few seconds of her opening gifts because the oohs, aahhs, and wows here too funny. At the end of this video you can hear her.

Snow Day!!

So.....on Monday we could see most of the grass in our front yard. Today, not so much. Thank goodness for neighbors with snowblowers who are willing to snowblow driveways up and down the block 2-3 times per day. Last year at Maddie's birthday party the kids played outside the entire time - no snow, mud etc. Guessing that won't be happening in three days. On the plus side we don't have a bunch of brown dead plants sticking out in our front yard anymore!

Today Maddie turns 2! Jack helped her open her gifts tonight after we had a special dinner of.......Happy Meals - oh yum!

She was ready to stop opening gifts at the first one....her face says it all!

Here she is holding her Olivia backpack and teddy bear nicely until I snapped the picture at exactly the same time she threw them both down. There may be some terrible two's sneaking through.

This weekend we'll celebrate with the whole family - ELMO Birthday party!!!

Cousins

We got to spend some time with cousins this weekend. Allie and Maddie had time to play together today and were goofy as ever. Here they are cuddling in bed.

We also welcomed a new cousin this weekend. Stephen James was born on Friday. He was so teeny tiny and his big cousins are so happy to have him here.

Days off...

Days like these melt my heart. There was no school Thursday or Friday, so I took both days off to stay home with the kids. We did a lot of nothing (sort of). We did venture to the library and I was reminded real fast of why we hadn't been there since last May - someone happens to have no control over pulling EVERY book off of the shelves. We took Jack for a haircut, we stayed in jammies for long periods of time, we baked cookies, we took naps, we played legos, we played Little People house, farm, etc, we read books, we watched movies, we cuddled....a lot. It was fantastic!

Dr. Suess

Today is Dr. Suess' birthday. Jack celebrated all morning at school having a pajama party, green eggs and ham (of which he did not eat - not on his list of acceptable foods apparently), and reading lots of books.

We continued the celebration at home by renting The Cat in the Hat and eating cotton candy!
