Camping

We finally ventured out camping again this weekend. Jack was so excited to check out the beach as soon as we got there on Friday night.
Here's Maddie at the beach on Saturday....half enjoying herself. She wasn't really having the whole beach scene. She does, however, enjoy her feet these days - they're her favorite new toy lately.

Grandma and Grandpa took Maddie for the night on Saturday so we were able to spend some extra time with Jack. He enjoyed our colorful fire that night, playing catch, and playing with his dump truck in the dirty dirty sand.

4 Months Old

Maddie turned four months old on Wednesday. Lucky her she got to go see the doctor and get yucky shots. She weighed in at 15.1 pounds and was 27" long. For as touchy as a little girl she has been, she made a little wimper right after her shots and that was it. Not even a cry! She was just very tired and needed to come ho0me afterward and take a snooze...

Another day at the park

We had an extremely low key weekend after a few really busy weekends, so we decided to go the park again (that we promised on Memorial Day we'd visit more often)...Jack met a friend and decided he wanted to go swimming - notice the undies - we weren't really planning on swimming, but whatever works, right?
Maddie got her first ride down the slide with Daddy.

Jack put his toes in the water in the little waterfall.

Not a one of us were dressed or groomed for a family picture, but we did it anyway....Nothing like a self portrait off the stroller...that's what the green obstruction is in the bottom of the picture.

Try, Try Again

The last time Jack attempted his bike was the day before Maddie was born....so he felt like he was ready to face it again after his traumatic (yeah, right) ride last time. He did MUCH better this time and actually seemed to enjoy it rather than being crazy scared the whole time.

Baby Date

Last week Maddie and I went to visit Katie and Allie....I'd say it was their first playdate, but there was far more pooping and eating going on than playing.
Maddie was't sure what to think today, but we're sure there will be plenty more opportunities for these two to get to know each other better and actually play someday too!

Oshkosh

Today we went and met some college friends down in Oshkosh for a picnic and fun at Menominee Park. Jack had a blast taking a train ride, especially through the tunnel.
Here is Jack and Addy on the carousel. Last year Jack would have nothing to do with the horses that moved up and down - we only got to sit on the bench...he is slowly braving up!

We took a trip around their zoo too. The people there were much scarier than any of the animals - long story... Here are the prarie dogs that Jack enjoyed watching. He giggled like crazy over the monkey though. He thought it was hilarious that the monkey played with baby toys.

Here's the whole group - it's getting to be a big one!

We also got to play on their huge playground set. Jack coninually got lost in it, so we eventually called it quits after my 3rd or 4th near heart attack.

Maddie was SUCH a good girl today! She is sure growing out of her crabby stage and is developing a much sweeter personality now.

Exersaucer

We decided that since it was a sauna upstairs tonight, we would watch the Brewers game from the nice cool basement. We also decided it was about time to bust out the exersaucer as we didn't have any other toys downstairs for Maddie.
She seemed to enjoy it, but she liked trying to eat the seat the most.

She took a brief timeout from chewing the seat to pop up for a picture.

Happy 4th!

Jack with his bucket all ready for the parade to begin.
He perfected his wave to the floats and was able to cash on quite a bit (way too much) candy.

Cute little tootsies.

This was taken before we left today...they were both pretty poopered out by the time we got home - this is the second night in a row that Maddie hasn't made it to pajama phase - sleeping in her clothes is good enough on days like this!

And one final thought.....Oy. Scary, isn't it?
