Swingin'

One of Jack's favorite thing to do every day (and all day if he could) is swinging...and now his little sister has joined in on the fun.

Happy 5 Months!

On Saturday Maddie turned 5 months old. Now days she is a pretty happy baby. She enjoys her exersaucer more than anything else. She gets a HUGE kick out of her brother - he can make her giggle more than anyone else. She is rolling over like crazy and can scoot backwards pretty good - sometimes she even gets up on her knees a little. She is weighing in at a whoppin' 18 pounds these days! She is lovin' her rice cereal and fruits and veggies that she is slowly getting added to her diet. Life is good!

Camping

We spent this past weekend camping - luckily the exersaucer fit nicely in the camper where we spent lots of time while it was cool and damp for a while.

We got lots of visiting time in with great grandma and grandpa.

Lauren & Kirsten

We finally had a chance to go hang out with the Hedtke clan again! Jack had a blast with the girls. Here he is hanging out on the playset with Lauren.

Mickie was nice enough to go dig out their exersaucer so Maddie had entertainment all night. Here she is with Kirsten.

What do you do when you're the only little boy with two cute girls....well hot tubbin', of course! Who knew a hot tub could provide so many hours of entertainment!

Sweet Potatoes

We decided since we have pretty much mastered rice cereal, to maybe try some sweet potatoes tonight.

Needless to say she got a bit into it (or a little out of control)....seemed to like them overall though - no icky faces! Well, except the one here.

A night of Firsts

This spunky little girl had all sorts of firsts today...

Her first attempted flashing the camera...

Her first solids...rice cereal, YUM! She had no problem with eating solids...not shocking for anyone who has seen her eat a bottle before....

and, FINALLY, her first official night in her crib. So far (at this point it's been about an hour and a half) she is doing awesome! I laid her down while she was still awake (which doesn't happen often) and she just sang and talked to her little aquarium and when I peeked in on her while it was finishing up, she fell asleep...haven't heard a peep since!

Zoo/Park

On our way to Waupaca for a trip to the petting zoo and park!

The goats at the petting zoo were more than eager for a little treat - they couldn't even wait the food to get out of the machine.

Jack's favorite animals there were the lemurs - they were pretty funny!

We got to feed a kangaroo there.

Jack was excited that the park we went to had two "Thomas Bridges". Unfortunately, a bee ruined our good time when he stung Jack in the back of the head....it was getting to be nap time anyway, but not such a fun way to end the day...

Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'

Maddie is rollin' like a champ! Our freedom of allowing her to just lay down is forever gone and she is loving it!

The new grabbing of toes thing she's been doing all the time helps her the most...

Always happy with her end result! Well, at least until she reaches a point where she can't get any further, then, not so happy!
