Turkey Trot 2011...Thanksgiving Day.

Last weekend we tried to take advantage of the nice weather and went to the zoo since we didn't make it there earlier this year. We of course had to go feed the giraffes even though both Maddie & Jack were freaked out by their tongues.

They thought it was funny to follow around the peacocks - this one that's white behind them was their favorite!

First haircut

At Granma's urging we finally went and got the "poor girl's" hair cut! It kept falling in her face and was all different lengths so we decided today was the day (well, yesterday was the day). This is her before picture - I couldn't get a good one to show the length because she kept brushing it out of her face - she was so excited to be a "big girl" and get her hair cut.

Until we got there - turns out she didn't want it cut. She was petrified of everything - wouldn't even take a sucker, apple, nothing!

And it never got better - if you look close you can see her clutching the booster seat for dear life. I promise after I took the pictures I did try to comfort her.

She was all better the second it was done - there's not much of a difference afterward except for she doesn't need something to hold the big chunk of hair back anymore.

Lost Tooth!

Well, the tooth fairy made her appearance last week when Jack's tooth fell out and as soon as it fell out the next one felt loose. Christmas list this just might have teeth on it.

Fair Time!!

On Saturday we headed out to the fair in Shawano. Maddie got to ride her Merry-Go-Round again!

While it rained we headed to check out some exhibits in the 4-H barn. Rachel's pictures were there with some familiar faces.

Jack LOVED the lego displays and when we looked closer we saw this one was Justin's!

Jack decided he wanted to try a "big" ride! He braved the scrambler and didn't look well during the ride but ended saying it was the funnest thing he did today!

The Merry-Go-Round again....so happy!

Jack's got his first loose tooth - and he's a little freaked out about it....and so am I. Forgot how yucky it is!

Buh-Bye Summer

It was nice while it lasted!

Okay, so we didn't buy peanuts, but we did get our Cracker Jack!

The weatherman was wrong...

We've been planning on going camping this past weekend for a few weeks now and of course they forecasted rain until Sunday, so we just went with it...for the first time (we've been very lucky) we actually were contained to our camper while it rained on Friday night - I threw some DVD's and the computer in the camper before leaving so that (and books) were our entertainment for Friday night until we were able to go out and start a fire at dark when the rain stopped.

Saturday we got up early (for us) to take advantage of the dry weather before it started to rain all day like they said it would...The jumping pillow was fun for Jack - maddie could've done without it - not too into the whole jumping thing right now.

She did like the spaceball trampoline though - probably just throwing the balls around more than anything.

Jack liked it too and almost made a few baskets.

One of the playgrounds we spent a LOT of time at this weekend.

Tried out fishing - no luck.

This was their petting zoo - notice we are on the OUTSIDE of the fenced in area - no one wanted to get too close.

We went to test out the water (still not raining....) and it was warm even though it wasn't too warm outside.....soooo

We went back and changed and the sun came out and it warmed up a little!

It was a Halloween themed weekend - Jack wouldn't get his face painted but Maddie did - a spider and pumpkin.

After a long walk around the campground - notice she won't drop her rock or her sandals though she was sound asleep.

After Maddie's nap we went and swam once more since still no rain and now a lot nicer. When we came back we changed into our Halloween costumes and went trick or treating.

And we ate corn. Lots and lots of corn. Works out nice when co-workers have a field of it in their back yard!

Our visit with Addy & Jayda

We headed down to Union Grove this weekend to visit with Nikki, Jason, Addy & Jayda. It was insanely hot when we got there so we headed out to their grandma and grandpa's pool.

We were fortunate enough to be able to "borrow" their auntie & uncle's house - Maddie made herself right at home. She didn't waste any time playing with all their toys!

We headed out to the fair Saturday night - and discovered that Maddie likes rides! This was the only one we let her go on but she was a happy little girl during this whole ride!

Jack isn't a fan of the rides but he would've done anything to win this minion from his favorite movie to watch at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Luckily it only took mom and dad two times to win it for him!

We came back and munched on our traditional M&M treats - that's become "our" thing as weird as that is!

Sunday morning Addy went to the store with Jason and picked out cookies - She picked out this huge monster of a cookie for Maddie who was pretty much in Heaven eating the pink frosting.

We had planned to go to the zoo but it was way too hot to do that, so we instead decided to just hang out and play in the sprinkler and stay cool until our air conditioned ride home.
