Memorial Day weekend part 2

Since we spent lots of time on Saturday just hanging 0ut, swimming, etc., we decided to go out and about for a little while, which was a bit of a challenge with hot weather, and an array of ages to say the least. We went to check out the goats on the roof in Sister Bay and then walked through a marina and looked at all the big boats.
Everyone needed a little break, so we stopped at a park while we were there too.

We decided to head over to PC Junction, a restaurant that has a train deliver your food. It was a hit with everyone. During or wait to be seated we checked out all the fun stuff they had. They had a big wooden train that Jack liked to give people "rides" on.

A truck that was turned into a slide. Can't see the slide here, but it was neat.

Maddie and Daddy relaxing in the shade.

And then the fun part! It was impossible to get a good picture because who wants to turn around for a picture when there is a train involved? Not sure who enjoyed it more, Jack or Maddie. She would shake herself up and down so much when the train came through, she looked like she'd jump right out of her seat.

After lunch, we went to check out the rest of the activities. Maddie took two rides in this train - she was "driving" it and thought it was pretty funny.

Heath and Jack on something...not sure what to call it...pedal dune buggy maybe? Jack controlled the stearing, which made for a bumpy ride.

Going down the slide.

Back at home with our new PC Junction T-shirts we got as souveniers.

Memorial Day Weekend Part 1

For Memorial Day Weekend, we went to Door County to spend time with Heath's mom and grandma at his mom's new timeshare.
We spent LOTS of time swimming - Jack was very good at it! With water wings anyway. Maddie loved it too, but prefered to just get in and out 100 times as her way of fun.

They had a fun swingset we played at a few times.

And an AWESOME bathtub, that I may have liked much more than the kids. This was the 2nd swimming pool!

Hot Day!!!

It was a hot one today! Luckily Samantha, Rachel and Justin have a pool that was already nice and warm for today! Grandma and Grandpa took Jack and Maddie swimming while we did some work. Allie and her grandma and grandpa came too! Allie and Maddie have matching swimsuits - wasn't even planned!
When we got home it was up to 90 degrees, so we got the slip 'n slide out for some more relief. Jack is much better at it this year than he was last year!

When were on our 3rd outfit for the day on Saturday, we decided why not get out some silly things. She's got on baby cutoffs and her little cropped shirt. Probably the last time she'll get to wear this for a VERY LONG time. Her piggy tales topped it off.

Baseball game

We got to go to a Timber Rattler's baseball game last week. We were able to take Alyssa with our extra ticket. They seemed to have fun together, especially on all the fun playground equipment before the game.

Jack's friend was there also. They were a handful together!
Not surprisingly, Jack was pretty wore out on the way home.

Just hop in

Jack went to "work" with Hannah today. So, Maddie got mom and dad all to herself. She enjoyed having her toys to herself also. She felt the need to just jump right into her toy basket to play with everything.

Jack's day out

Jack got to spend the day on Wednesday with just me all by himself. We went to a drive in for lunch (Sonic).

He thought that was pretty cool, because he got to sit and lounge in the front seat while he ate his lunch.

We went to Toys R Us to check out things he may want for his birthday. He is definately not getting one of these, but wanted to try them anyway. Go figure that he wanted to try out Lightning McQueen.

But shockingly, it was the escalade that he really wanted. He's got expensive taste apparently.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day!!!! Jack was really into this year - all week he was so excited about all the things "he" wanted to get me - I would've been a really lucky girl if that'd all been true - for sure I know I would have at least gotten a necklace and a pink lawnmower.
We went to spend the day with family at grandma and grandpas. Jack had the unfortunate incident of falling into the river so he had to catch rides as much as possible while his shoe and sock dried. He's hanging on for dear life - might be because Justin is driving though!

Alli and Maddie got lots of hang out time today too. Neither of them looked at the camera at the same time today though. And let me tell you, we tried. And tried.

But we gave lots of good kisses before we left (and licks too).

Silly Girl

This weekend was rummage sale weekend and we had a very successful rummage sale, but we also made a haul on kids clothes at other people's sales. Today I cleaned out Maddie's closet and put all her new stuff in. It is now jam packed with clothes, since she is sort of in three different sizes at once. She "helped" me by destroying her room and Jack's room while I did this. She dumped all of jack's clothes out of his hamper and wore it.
Here she is standing on her box of blocks thinking she's pretty "cool" which it actually sounds like she's saying sometimes. She wouldn't look at the camera because she was busy pointing to her poster and quacking like a duck.

And this is what happens when she wants to go outside and we don't want to. This happens a lot lately. She would be outside all the time if it were up to her. She has mastered the temper tantrum.

Well, I said we were a boring family and here's what happened the next day. Jack woke up with a cold on Tuesday and by Tuesday night he wasn't breathing well. We went to the emergency room and after some breathing treatments and x-rays it was determined he had bronchitis. He was a good sport about all of it and was feeling better in no time.
