Taking it all in

We have spent the weekend just soaking up all our toys. Maddie is attempting to drink our of the salt and pepper shakers that go with the new kitchen.
What to do with 100 balls? Throw them in the crib, of course!

Sporting our new jammies~ and trying to get a picture of her standing up - no such luck though.

Christmas Day

We went and celebrated with Heath's family later Christmas day (after a MUCH needed nap for all)....Jack continued to get every Cars thing ever made...
An attempted picture of Maddie with her baby

New rocking chair

All the kids for an attempted ornament picture...we'll see if it will work!

Christmas Morning

Grandma, grandpa, and brian came to our house after we opened our presents from Santa....Jack was rather pleased with what he got!
Mater the greater, stunt track - he specially asked for this!

One of his other favorites of the holiday!

Santa came to our house!

dreaming about the big day.....
Maddie was the first one up - she was lost in all the presents!

Maddie at it again with her wrapping paper treats!

This was jack's present to Maddie - he picked it out all on his own from a school shopping thing - it was a baby doll with a home made stocking cap and one that maddie could wear to match - sooooooooo cute!!!!

Jack got a new thomas track from Santa! They both agree that Santa did well!

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve at Grandma and Grandpa's house....getting a picture by the tree....next to impossible
Our family, Christmas 2009

One of Jack's favorite gifts of the night....a remote control lightening mcqueen!

Maddie's all decked out for Christmas.

And sportin' her bow-hawk.

Brooke and Maddie

Maddie and Allie - I'm sure she really appreciates you putting her brand new toys in your mouth...better than the gobs of tissue paper she enjoyed munching on earlier in the night.

9 Months!!!

Maddie turned 9 months old on 12/22. Her height and weight have stayed the same this month (which is probably not a bad thing) - she's now 29" and 24 pounds. Recent developments would be her newfound attitude - temper tantrums and all, being fairly happy about 90% of the time (can't ask for much more than that!), and she's recently started standing by herself for a little bit at a time! Of course when she notices it, she goes down to her butt, but we get excited for her! Despite all her new toys, she still likes her brother's toys the best! And he just LOVES it when she puts them in her mouth!

More about Santa

Here is a little recap on the Santa situation.

Santa??

We caught Santa peeking in our windows tonight. jack's reaction made for a not so successful taping of it...a little excited?

On Saturday we had a cookie exchange at Grandma Pat's so Maddie and Allie had a chance to catch up on things. Maddie showed her how she likes to attack everything from animals to toys and apparently other babies too.
I believe here she is telling Allie a big fish story. Allie isn't having it.

Cuties.

Trying to get them to give each other hugs and kisses, but mostly was just grabbing and slobbering.

Decorating Cookies

Jack put a lot of time and effort into decorating the cutout cookies this year.
He did an awesome job - they were his favorite cookie this year!

School Christmas Program

Here's Jack last Monday night at his school Christmas program. The kids did a poem and a song. Afterward he had to sit with his class for the rest of the program (about an hour and a half) during which time he fell asleep on his teacher's lap. It must have took a lot out of him.

Christmas program #2

Here are the kids a minute before we walked out the door to Christmas Program #2 (for Jack) - our church's program.

He played an angel in the angel choir. Apparently i should've put a white shirt on him, because he had troubles keeping his angel outfit on him...and troubles all around, but he's 4.....I rest my case.

Santa

Jack was a little more thrilled than the picture looks like he is. he was scared at first (which was surprising) but he warmed right up to him pretty quickly. He asked for dinosaurs.....then later had to go back up and tell him he forgot to tell him he wanted some Thomas stuff too. Santa needs to do some research because Santa didn't seem to have a clue what Thomas stuff was until I explained it for him. Geesh.
Maddie didn't say too much, or show too much excitement. My efforts at a Christmas card picture obviously didn't go too well.

First Snow Day

Well...duh! With snow like this, who wouldn't have a snow day?!?!?!

First Christmas Program

Jack was in his first Christmas program on Sunday afternoon with Stepping Stones from grandma's church in Marion. Maddie got to get all dressed up in her first Christmas outfit - courtesy of Addy! Thanks!

Here's Jack singing Away in a manger with his class. Also here is him practicing all the hygienic ways to sneeze that we have been teaching him.

St. Nick

St. Nick visited our house on Saturday night and we got the goodies on Sunday morning. Maddie enjoyed her new piggy ball that vibrates when you push his nose. She also got her first Christmas ornament.
Jack got a car and a new coloring pad with special markers, since he is becoming quite the pro at coloring since the beginning of the school year. He also was treated to some candy! yum!!

Christmas Tree

We put up our Christmas tree tonight - Jack helped a lot - this has been the first year he truly "helped". He had fun seeing the different ornaments he helped make.
Maddie was a help too, as you can see. She's trying to eat the Christmas lights, probably really safe.

Jack hanging his special ornament from last year - Nemo characters!

Funny Faces

I went outside today to fix the Christmas lights and when I turned around to come back in, this is what welcomed me....nice!
